Acting and performing in front of the camera although similar to theater is distinctive in approach and technique. This camp is a must for anyone wanting to know about acting for movies or television as it offers the camper the experience of working in single camera acting techniques and understanding what the relationship is of the camera to the performance. Campers will be trained in many of the technical requirements that an actor must know to work successfully in the profession. Workshops in cold reading, audition techniques, camera-combat and focus concentration are part of the campers week long experience. Focused on performance, campers are trained by professionals in the motion picture and television industry and each camper will get the experience of working in front of the camera to realize a finished scene. Guest speakers may drop in from time to time to share their knowledge with the camp. This is another one of the camps that fills quickly. So register early!

Letter from a parent

Hello Professor Schreibman

I just wanted to thank you again for a great experience at UCLA's Acting for the Camera Camp. I definitely learned so much more, was able to hone more skills, and grow as an actress. I couldn't stop thinking about how much I want to be involved in this industry. This has been my passion forever. I believe I am meant to be an actress and even more. I also want to thank you for all the great programs as I loved all what was included in the Acting for the Camera course. I cannot tell you how thankful I am to have learned more about acting for the camera from the strong professors; they have opened my eyes to stuff I wasn't familiar with in the acting world before. Being a part of this course made me realize that this is exactly what I should be doing, and that I am glad to have had that opportunity to be around other people who share the same feeling and passion as myself.

Thanks again for everything! Hope you are doing well!
