The 8th annual design Showcase West will take place June 6 in the Freud Playhouse at UCLA. The only national entertainment design exhibit on the west coast, the Showcase features the design work of students graduating from the nation’s top university design programs, including UCLA, USC, Cal Arts, Carnegie Mellon, NYU, Yale, UT Austin and North Carolina School of the Arts. This year’s Showcase includes more than 50 students exhibiting their work in costume, scenic, set, sound and lighting design. Design Showcase West is attended by entertainment producers, directors and A-list designers who have an eye toward hiring new talent. Opening the Showcase will be an exhibit review session for top-level industry professionals. Members of the public are welcome to attend the open session on Saturday afternoon. |
