Professional Program in Screenwriting alum Natasha Pincus has been nominated for two MTV Video Music Awards for "Video of the Year"and "Best Editing" for the music video she created for Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know." With an incredible 300,000,000 views on Youtube, the video is now one of the site's top 25 most viewed videos of all time.

The video faces some stiff competition in the "Video of the Year" voted category from the likes of Katy Perry and Rihanna, and in the "Best Editing" professional category from Kanye West, Jay-Z and Beyoncé.

Pincus spent seven years studying Law and Science at University only to end up committing to the life of a filmmaker. She is an industrious screenwriter who has completed several original feature screenplays, and has been commissioned to create concepts, bible documents and write pilot episodes for TV drama series for various producers. She currently resides in Melbourne, Australia.

"While production costs for the pop videos would have been anywhere from $400,000 to more than $1 million, Pincus' was produced "on the smell of an oily rag", with a crew of five working for below commercial rates because of their passion for the project.

"I also couldn't afford an editor, which is lucky," Pincus said. Lucky because she has also been nominated in the Best Editing category.
