Academy Awards Nominations

Filmmaker Courtney Marsh (B.A. '09) is nominated for her first Academy Award, in the Best Documentary (Short Subject) category, for Chau, Beyond the Lines. Her 34-minute film spotlights Chau, a 16-year-old teenager in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, who is disabled by the effects of Agent Orange but aspires to become a professional artist and clothing designer. Additionally, Six UCLA TFT alumni and a lecturer have affiliations with seven films, including Chau, Beyond the Lines, that are nominated for Academy Awards this year. They are:

The 88th Academy Awards ceremony takes place on Sunday, Feb. 28 and airs live on ABC.
