Specialty Edit Suites
Location: 2463, 2465 and 2467 Melnitz
Post Production has three specialized suites for production students at upper levels. The specialty edit suites have additional features as identified by their names, Thesis Edit, Color 1 and Color 2. As a result, these rooms are called the specialty suites to help identify them as unique from the rest of the general edit suites. Like the general edit suites, the specialty edit suites each have a desk with stereo sound system, dual 24" widescreen displays and a Mac Pro computer. Thesis Edit has Avid Media Composer and Adobe Creative Cloud. Much like the general edit suites, it is simply separated to help provide an area for M.F.A. graduate thesis students during crunch times. Color 1 and Color 2, however, are extremely specialized and designed entirely for color grading in Da Vinci Resolve. Color 1 and Color 2 have additional calibrated color grading monitors, a Blackmagic Mini Color Panel and a HDTV. The specialty edit suites have USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt for portable storage drives.
