Three UCLA TFT alumni wrote and directed episodes for the ABC Family drama The Fosters, which has received a 2015 TCA Award in the category of Outstanding Achievement in Youth Programming for the 2014-15 season. They include: Tamara P. Carter (M.F.A. ' 13), who wrote the episode "Padre"; Kelly Fullerton (M.F.A. '10), who wrote nine episodes; and Elodie Keene (B.A. '73), who directed four episodes. Additionally, Daniel Attias (M.F.A. '83) directed two episodes of FX's The Americans, which received the TCA Awards' Outstanding Achievement in Drama prize.

The TCA Awards took place on Saturday, August 8 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The ceremony was hosted by actor and talk show host James Corden. Fox's Empire was named Program of the Year and AMC's Better Call Saul was named Outstanding New Program.
