UCLA TFT Professor John W. Simmons wins Emmy Award; eight UCLA Alumni and Faculty are among those named 2016 Emmy Awards Nominees

Associate Adjunct Professor John Simmons (B.A. ’82) received a Creative Arts Emmy Award (Outstanding Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series) as the director of photography for the “Go Hollywood” episode of Nickelodeon’s Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn during the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, which took place over two nights, Saturday, Sept. 10 and Sunday, Sept. 11 at the Microsoft Theater at L.A. Live in Downtown Los Angeles. The Creative Arts Emmy Awards honor outstanding artistic and technical achievement in a variety of television program genres, guest performances in weekly series, as well as exceptional work in the animation, reality and documentary categories.

Including Simmons, eight UCLA alumni and faculty have been named 2016 Emmy Awards nominees. An additional 29 UCLA alumni, faculty and board members have involvement with 16 Emmy nominated projects. The Creative Arts Emmy Awards will air on FXX on Saturday, Sept. 17. The 68th Emmy Awards ceremony, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, takes place on Sunday, Sept. 18 and airs live on ABC.
