30th Annual Pan African Film & Arts Festival

The UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television is proud to be a sponsor of the 30th annual Pan African Film & Arts Festival (PAFF), taking place April 19-May 1. Touted as the largest Black film festival in the Unites States, 80% of this year’s films are directed by filmmakers of African descent. After an opening night screening of the Mahalia Jackson biopic Remember Me at the Directors Guild of America, PAFF will show more than 200 films from 55 countries at the Cinemark Baldwin Hills including the winners of the John Singleton Short Film Competition, inspired by the legacy of the late Los Angeles-born filmmaker. The festival will also host the Season 5 finale premiere of FX's Snowfall and Showtime’s The Man Who Fell From Earth, starring Chiwetel Ejiofor. In addition to the in-person screenings, many titles will also be available for viewing at home via the festival’s streaming platform Eventive. The full schedule is available in the online Festival Program. Festival passes and tickets can be purchased at www.paff.org.
