2023 Emmy Nominations
The Emmy nominations were revealed on July 12, and it was a big win for Succession (HBO/HBO Max). The show secured a whopping 27 nominations, including a nod for Best Drama Series and three nominations for Best Actor in a Drama Series. Kevin J. Messick (BA, MFA '89) proudly serves as an executive producer on the series, adding to its acclaim. Another talented individual making waves is production designer Misty Buckley (BA '07), who received two nominations for Outstanding Production Design for a Variety Special. Her exceptional work on The Oscars and Encanto at the Hollywood Bowl caught the attention of the Emmy committee.
The highly anticipated 75th Primetime Emmy Awards is scheduled to take place on September 18 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. The star-studded event will be broadcasted on FOX at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET, making it a must-watch for television enthusiasts.
Several other notable alumni from UCLA have also made their mark in the entertainment industry and received Emmy nominations.
