Danika Frank is a stereotypical New Yorker, currently residing in Los Angeles. She received her B.A. in Writing, Literature & Publishing, with a minor in Comedy, from Emerson College in 2018. As such, she is academically certified as a funny person. During her undergraduate education, Frank worked as an editor for The Emerson Review, the school’s oldest student-run literary journal, co-founded the Emerson Playwrights Collective, and held a position on the inaugural team of an experimental feminist publication. She won the top honor of High Distinction in Emerson’s Senior Writing Awards. Since her arrival in L.A., she has worked on several films, music videos and other productions. Her current focus is melding film labor and film theory, through accessible scholarly writing and praxis. She aims to curate experimental, extreme film festivals of the future, as she studies and creates new media that produces sympathy for the unsympathetic and explores intense and undesirable topics.
