VIRTUAL REALITY, TECHNOLOGY AND PERFORMANCE SUMMER INSTITUTE

The Virtual Reality, Technology and Performance Summer Institute is a three-week, UC credit-bearing intensive program for students interested in the performing arts. This institute provides opportunities to work with our distinguished faculty in classes that cover creative and technical development of all aspects of a theatrical production incorporating emerging and advanced technologies. This experience will allow students to create a 3D environment from a combination of software and compatible hardware and apply their training to tell a story using a variety of media sources. Students will learn the technical components of script adaptation, writing and directing while gaining hands-on experience in media design, lighting, sound, and production. Beyond the classroom, students will attend guest workshops, and learn the art of collaboration.

The program is designed for artists and students who seek additional discipline and training required for participation in a university theater program with a focus on live media or a career in the entertainment industry. Participation in this institute is open to high school (14 years and older) students.

Admission to the program is by digital audition and instructor consent (See REGISTRATION section below for more information). As part of the application process, we encourage each applicant to submit a resume. The resume can be uploaded during the application process. Please note that all levels are encouraged to apply.
